What are you reading?
Okay, so I'm starting a new topic like the "What are you listening to?" in the Other Music forum.
I want to know what books y'all are reading. I'm always looking for good books, and since I'm not going to school this summer, I'm going to be reading a lot. Also, our Relief Society has a book club, so if you have any recommendations for books, I'd love to hear them.
So, right now I'm reading Fire of the Covenant by Gerald Lund. It's about the Martin and Willie handcart companies...very good! Also, I'm reading a really uplifting book by Ardeth Kapp called Better Than You Think You Are. It's a good one for when you're feeling down...
Anyway, share your books, and they don't have to be just church books either.

Here's some I just read: (I'm between books) Out of Jersulam by Heather Moore, Just what the Doctor Ordered, AND The Seventh Seal trilogy.
All AWESOME. That's part of the problem.. no LDS bookstore here, and I want more like those books.
I'm reading V for Vendetta and a book called Blonde Ambition.. or something like that. V for Vendetta is good... i already know everything that's going to happen though because I saw the movie first, but oh well.

I'm reading the Children of the Promise series. It's about an LDS family during WWII. They are really good.
I just got done reading The Work and the Glory series and The Fire of the Covenant. All very good books.

Justin must not know us very well! We find anything out we can about JR!
I read the first two Hearts Of The Children books, I really liked them. I currently have a stack up books that is over knee-high that I still need to read. Then I can get to the series like Children of the Promise, Hearts of the Children, and Kingdom & the Crown that I've been wanting to read. I also want to read Work & the Glory again.
Oh, and Memoirs of a Geisha is VERY good! I'm listening to the book on CD at work.

As of right now, I am not reading anything which is odd. Actually, I have this book called "The Body Project" that I checked out for a research project I had to do. It's all about the changing of American girls throughout the yeats and stuff. THe little that I read of it for my research was really good, so I think I'll pick up the whole thing sometime soon here.

hahaha YEATS! Me and Heather just had a good laugh about that because I pointed it out to her.

I just got done reading a book called, 'The Hiding Place' by Corrie Ten Boom. About a woman that helped some of the Jews in World War 2. It's an awesome book. Before that I read HP 6. I haven't done much reading lately. lol You should chek out that first one I mentioned though.
~Annette~
The Hiding Place is an awesome book...I should read that one again!
"I'm tired of giving in, you're blind and bleeding, and I feel so stupid for letting you tell me I had to change, and I believed it. And I feel so stupid for letting you..."
Pretty much my uncle David stole my HP 6 book. lol. Well, i haven't actually asked for it back yet...
I really like a book called "Among the Hidden." It's by Margaret Peterson Haddix. Ok, so it's a book for 9-12 year olds, but it's a really good story! I was just looking up the author on amazon.com and found that it comes in a box set now, there are 4 more stories that go along with it...Anyways, so this Among The Hidden book makes me cry every single time I read it.

What's it about, Heath?
"I'm tired of giving in, you're blind and bleeding, and I feel so stupid for letting you tell me I had to change, and I believed it. And I feel so stupid for letting you..."
It's about this society that it is illegal for families to have more than three children, so it's about this 12 year old boy, Luke, that is a third child, "shadow children" as they're called. Anyways, so he has to stay home all alone by himself all day while his parents are at work, and his brothers are at school. Well, there is a wooded area by his farm that gets developed into a really nice, wealthy people neighborhood. And one day, when he is looking at one of his little vents in his room to the outside, he sees a light go on and off, and then a face appear in a window where he already knows that 2 other children live. So, finally one day he gets the courage to run over there and check it out, and it goes from there. It's a really good easy reading book. I just thought it was really interesting because of the plot, like the 3 children rule and such. It was cool. Gives you a different perspective on some countries.
^I've read that book! It's really good.
I want to read the Davinci Code.

I just finished "For Time And All Absurdity" by Robert Farrell Smith. It's about this guy when he gets back from his mission and all the crazy things that happen. It was good, but I was expecting it to be funnier then it actually was. The last few chapters were the best though. It got exciting. hah.
When the world gets in my face I say have a nice day
So I skimmed through the other posts and didn't see any of these books listed. lol I just got done reading Rolling with the Tide by Jeff Call. My new favorite book. He is a really good author. He also wrote Mormonville and Return to Mormonville. I cried reading all three books. If someone has already read these then just ignore this post. lol And if there are any typos in this post forgive me. lol Hard day. I am emotionally exhausted.

Ooh, I loved Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister! Definitely Maguire's best book!
Right now I'm reading "Of One Heart" by Neal A. Maxwell. It's an out-of-print book about the city of Enoch that was written in the 70's...really good if you can get your hands on a copy. Actually, I'm going to go right now and finish reading it, I only have about 20 pages to go.

I just finished "Angels and Demons" by Dan Brown. It's about Robert Langdon before the da vinci code all happened. It is really good too.
