who has seen the RM?

heh I love the RM too. I don't think it makes fun of our religion, cause really, you have to be LDS to even understand any of it! Like how they make furniture and stuff out of food storage, my mom says that there are actually like Lessons and stuff at Enrichment at how to do that kind of stuff! So I think basically, its just a funny version of the way Mormon life really is!

The RM is pretty sweet! I like the part where he falls alseep in the chair and it starts to tip over, so he grabs the first thing he sees which is the waterbottle! lol thats hilarious! I also like when they say "A Sale, a sale! We got another sale! HOO HAAAA!" and I like how in Relief Society the chalkboard is all decorated!

I love the RM!! Like when Jared's like "Mom! you're pregnant!" and the dad is like "Dont worry son, I didnt know until the visting teachers called" or whatever he said.
And yeah, I've got a friend who won't watch the Rm and hated Singles Ward because she thought it made fun of being LDS. I don't think it does though, I mean that's how mormons basically live! I wish you saw more of JR in it..you see them for like 3 seconds! And Justin was hoggin up the camera! lol j/k

I love it when Kirby says "I got Kung Fu'd by some naked ninja!"
I also have some friends who hated Singles Ward and walked out of the RM. They can't believe that I'm not offended by it, but I think it's all in fun. And it's pretty sad if you can't laugh at yourself a little bit.

hehe I know I already posted on this topic, but we just watched The RM the other night for mutual at my house, and I love it when "Elder Phelps" is talking to Molly about marrying "Kirby"...cause hardly anyone knows that his name in real life is Kirby, so they don't get the joke, they just think it's a funny name. So I had to explain to everyone that his name in real life was Kirby...

I think when me and Hilary saw the RM in the theatre, we were like the only ones who actually got what they were making fun of. everyone else just thought it was a funny named joke.

Have any of you watched it with the commentary on? It's the funniest thing ever. It's Kurt, Mike, and Kirby I think. It's funny, at the part in the movie where Jared and Kelly kiss, Kirby is like "I felt more guilty having my bishop in the audience seeing that, than my wife Trish" :D

haha so what else do I like? Oh! In the part where he is imagining his homecoming, and he's all rockstarish, and he sees Molly and he's like "I love you" all slow. hehe, and then when he turns he has an earring in! it's the funniest ever!

Have any of you noticed, Molly, I think is the same girl in Singles Ward that announces the people who are getting married only after knowing each other like a week, at the Singles Dance.

And the part when he is home teaching and he went to that lady's house and she didn't answer the door, but he is like "Sister" whatever "I can see your arm." When he was looking through the mail slot thing. And he was putting cookies in through it!! :lol: I love that part.

Anyway, The RM is one my favorite movies.

I've never been offended! I just laugh my pants off. I wonder if that is humanly possible!

But yeah, back to the RM. Of course, my fav part is with Jericho Road! Kim and I were screaming and clapping when the jail scene came on and all the hot guys next to us were staring! I was so embarrassed! Then we also yelled when the end credits were on and we saw "Jail Band.....Jericho Road"

I need to watch the commentary stuff with the movie. That should be good! "Take four steps to the right my friend! (pull down toupee) Sweet sister Lizzie sing me a sweet song of joy!"

Heather, that is the same girl, her name is Erin Roberts. We met her at a thing they had at a bridal shop before the movie came out. She was really sweet! And when she signed my cd she wrote something about me being unique. Which was funny because that's what Abe wrote on my True North cd...

I have watched it with the commentary on. That is pretty funny when he said that. The part in the restaurant where he works, the Book of Mormon, whatever, well you can see the people in the background when he is taking Kelly's order, well the blonde girl with the little boy is his wife and kid. Anyway, he says that when you watch it with the commentary on. I was hoping they would say something about the guys when that jail scene came on but they didn't say anything about them. :(

Anyway, it is a good movie. Court and I went to the RM party in Provo and got to meet some of the cast in person and they are so funny. Kirby and Wil especially. Wil signed my shirt and he drew this circle and wrote belly button with an arrow pointing to it. I don't know why, but he did. Then we got to see them again at the Media Play, the day we saw JR at the mall.

Yeah, it was fun to meet the cast in Provo! What Will put on Vee's shirt was so funny! He wrote "Don't Ever Change" on mine...And one of Kirby's brothers in the movie wrote something really funny, but I can't remember what it says. He signed my shirt two or three times though, had to make sure I remember him I guess!

Yeah, the one "brother" put something like, this for the people who love cheese, or something like that. They were pretty funny. :lol:

Hey I like the Tiacom tots and Nephries when they ordre them at the resturant. I also think it is funny when Kirby calls Kelly to ask her if he will go on a date with her thenn they hang up and he redials the # thinking it was his sister and says "she said yes" and Kelly is like what?
The part where the exchange student falls on him is really funny also!!!

You know that his sister Sariah is the same girl who sings the song on the Singles Ward when Jonathon is in the car on top of the mountain crying and all those flashbacks come on! If you watch the end of the Singles Ward video it has her music video!

Camille, you're right, that's the same girl! Her name is Maren Ord...she's really amazing, you should get her cd. She's working on a second one right now. It was supposed to come out this summer, but it hasn't come out yet.
She also has a song on the RM soundtrack. It's in the movie too, but they took out her vocals and just play the instrumental. It's "Where Can I Turn For Peace?" You can hear it towards the end of the movie after Kirby gives his talk in sacrament, and Kelly is outside waiting for him.

Ok since you guys were talking about Maren and being in The Rm... Her younger sister is in a scene in the movie-- the very beginning at the airport and you see these 2 girls (I think it was 2...) are singing some song. You'll figure out which one the sister is (Whats her name..Sarah?) because she looks a lot like a mini-Maren! Anyway, just some nice little trivia for ya ;)

Olivia- I did notice that! I saw her and was like "WHOA she looks like Maren!" and so then I watched the credits, and she was like the 2nd one in line cause the credits went in order of appearance. So yeah. I thought her name started with an E though? I dunno. :wink:

Oh I did say Sarah didn't I! Ok I think the sister in the movie is Emily. Sarah is her other sister..Sorry, got mixed up. Or I could be totally off on Emily..Hmmm I should just go watch the movie huh.

I'm going to the Book of Mormon Movie tonight and while going to the website, I saw that Kirby Heybourne plays Sam. Man! That guy is everywhere! They just couldn't enough of him being a Nephite waitor in the RM so they put him in another movie! Nephries! Oh that makes me crack up! What you're not broken?!
